How to adjust a backpack?

Once you have found the right bag category, you now need to find the right format. Most large backpacks are designed for different templates. You must choose your backpack based on the length of your back.

Measure the length of your back
  1. Find the most prominent vertebrae of your neck. This is the bump located at about the height of your shoulders.
  2. Find the tip of your hip and then draw a straight line to the middle of your column.
  3. Measure the distance between point A and point B for the length of your back.

Once you have determined the right length, it is time to adjust the bag. Load the bag (8 to 10 kg) and loosen the straps (remember the stabilizing straps top straps).

Adjust your backpack
  1. Put it so that the bones of your hip belt gets near the center. Tighten the belt so that it is comfortable, but without hindering your breathing.
  2. Shoot the adjustment straps so that they are comfortable. The straps should remain flat. They should match the shape of your shoulders without touching your neck. Furthermore, there should not be any space between the top of your shoulder and the strap.
  3. Slowly adjust the stabilizing straps from the top so that they are comfortable. Pull the straps until to feel a weight on your shoulders suspicion.
  4. Attach the chest strap that is connected to the straps and adjust it so your breast can swell naturally.
  5. If stabilizer straps on the belt, tighten your comfort.

Take a walk in the store by leaning forward and back to check if the load is balanced. Try adjusting all the points which press or rub against the skin.

The Maintenance And Repair Of A Backpack

Make sure your bag is dry before storing and do not expose it to direct sunlight when not in use.

Repairs

Bring a spare belt loop. These loops are easy to replace in addition to being a crucial element that will contribute to your comfort during your outdoor excursions.

If your zipper is stuck, simply rub with a candle. This will lubricate and slide more easily.

Use an old toothbrush to dislodge dust or sand jammed slides.
