Djibouti. In May, Djibouti was subjected to a suicide bombing targeting the Western military for the first time. Three were killed and around 15 injured in the attack on a restaurant, among them representatives of the EU security operation and the Spanish Air Force. According to Countryaah.com, Djibouti population in 2020 is estimated at 988,011. A member of the presidential guard opened fire in August at the airport in the capital Djibouti. At least two people were injured, one of whom was President Ismail Omar Guelleh’s doctor. According to topb2bwebsites, the president himself had just left the airport, on the way from a regional summit in Ethiopia to try to reach a ceasefire in the war-ravaged South Sudan.
