Saint Lucia. In March, disaster status was announced due to water shortages in the northern part of the island. Despite rain during the following months, the situation did not improve. In July, drought was felt throughout the country. Saint Lucia population in 2020 is estimated at 183,638. The general public was urged to both conserve water and to store water in such a way that it was not contaminated and thus contributed to the spread of infectious diseases.

During the year, steps were taken towards increased cooperation between Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines as well as Saint Lucia regarding investments in the telecommunications area, mainly in infrastructure for an expanded broadband network.

On Fortune (260 m above sea level) there is a fortress overlooking the city.
